Bamboo-Backed Hickory Bow
If you'd like a quality primitive style bow that's ready to shoot, our bamboo backed hickory bow might be the answer. These bows were designed for bowhunting but are equally at home at any SCA event or even rendezvous gatherings. The heart of this bow is the Hickory. Hickory has always been an exceptional bow wood but when you add the bamboo backing you get a durable long lasting bow that will perform faithfully for you. This bow is designed with a stable, mild deflex. (That means the limbs gently arc toward the archer when un-braced.) Early in his career Howard Hill shot bamboo bows that carried this same kind of dependable deflex shape. The deflexed bow is not meant to be a speed demon. It's smooth, reliable and shoots a heavy hunting arrow consistently shot after shot. Each of our bamboo backed hickory bows are fully tillered, stained, sealed, and ready to shoot. The handle section is wrapped in leather and, since you shoot from your knuckle, they can be shot either right or left handed.
Bows are approx. 68" with a full one-year warranty. String included. Natural materials, colors vary. Available in: 45#-50#, 50#-55#, 55#-60#, and 60#-65# at a 28" draw.

Yumi Japanese Traditional Bow
This is the same style of bow utilized by the famed Samurai warriors of Feudal Japan. While Samurai are usually recognized for their swordsmanship, proficiency with the Yumi (Japanese Bow) was actually considered a more valuable skill through much of Japan's history. Modern use of the Yumi Bow is known as Kyudo, or "Way of the Bow". Kyudo places as much emphasis on spiritual and moral development as it does accuracy and skill. It is a very serious discipline, drawing from the ancient Samurai traditions. Like the legendary Yumi Bows of old, this bow is hand made from sturdy bamboo (grown in the USA). Very good quality at an affordable price. Available in the 89" Nisun model, in draw weights of 22#, 30#, or 35#. Made in the USA.

Magyar Sport
The Magyar bow is inspired by the warrior-archers of the same name. The Magyar were the original Hungarian people, renowned for their horsemanship and archery. Because of their skill with the horse bow, at one point in history these great warriors controlled more territory than the French, being the third greatest power in Europe. Now you can harness that great empire-building power with the Magyar Sport.
The "Magyar Sport", (for draws of 26" - 32") is a 55" strung bow with a 50" string. Smooth to 30". A good choice for the aspiring horse archer.

Medieval Practice Weapon - Two Handed Sword -

Wooden practice weapons were able to withstand rough use while preserving the steel weapons for battles to come. A wooden sword is also useful for another reason; if it makes contact on another person they would not be badly injured, as they would if practicing with steel. This, combined with the obvious wear and tear that is saved on valuable steel blades, made wasters popular instruments for teaching fencing. Our practice weapons are hand crafted of solid, fully seasoned hardwood. With contrasting wood guard and pommel, they are strong enough to meet the needs of today's swordsman (or woman). Each can take the abuse of sparring and reenacting, even edge-to-edge. Keep in mind, however, that wood can break along the grain. This sword design represents edge weapons common from the 12th to 15th centuries. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

    Sword of Robert the Bruce
The master craftsmen of Windlass Steelcrafts have hand forged this blade of high carbon steel. The beautiful pommel emblazons the Cross of St. Andrew, while the hearty grip is wrapped in soft, black leather and held in place by a corded silver chain. This massive sword comes complete with a matching, thick black leather scabbard and sports a silver Lion of Scotland at its throat and a rounded silver metal shoe at its tip. A 1-1/2” wide belt, measuring 56-1/2" long, is attached.

     15th Century Longsword
The longsword, often called a hand-and-half, saw a great deal of service as a weapon of war, but was also employed a great deal as a civilian weapon of self-defense. This is a beautiful and very functional sword with steel pommel and guard.  The grip is wood wrapped with leather and wire. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts. Includes scabbard.

    German Bastard Sword
This sword is a replica of number A477 from the famed Wallace Collection. Primarily a cutting sword, with a wide blade that has a flattened oval cross section that gives very little resistance in a cutting blow. A perfect example of a true bastard sword. The proportions of the sword are that of a one handed sword, but with a slightly longer grip and a pommel shape that will allow two hands to be used. The grip is wood covered in cord and leather. The long quillion has  a decorative finial on the end and the side rings provide good hand protection. Well tempered high carbon steel blade by Windlass Steelcrafts. Scabbard with antiqued parts included. Note: To be consistent with the original, the antique finish is  hand applied and will vary between swords.

    Sword of Homildon Hill
We have named this hand and half sword for Sir Henry "Hotspur" Percy and that battle. The fullers are engraved in Latin with the inscription Who lives in falsehood slays his soul; whose speech is false, his honor, something Hotspur took to heart. The blade is from well-tempered high carbon steel, the wood grip is wrapped in fine black cord and the detailed parts have a dark bronze finish. Leather wrapped scabbard has matching bronze fittings. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.
