6th - 12th: Medieval Society – Students are given roles from Nobility to Commoner and how they interacted with one another. Chess pieces are used to represent the various Social Classes. The Nobility is represented by the King and Queen, Religion and its influence upon Government by the Bishop, the Military and its role of protection by the Knight, the stability of the Realm’s economy and the Merchant Class is represented by the Rook, while the simple Man at Arms and Peasants are the Pawns.
